Che'Nelle - Things Happen For A Reason

Penyanyi yang bedarah campuran Malaysia, India dan Belanda ini lahir di Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia. Namun karir musiknya dimulai ketika keluarganya hijrah ke Perth, Australia. Dia sering menulis lagu sendiri dan di bawakan bersama band-nya di sebuah karaoke yang dibuka oleh ayahnya di sana.

Seorang DJ sekaligus musisi veteran Amerika, Charles Dixon, tertarik dengan karya-karyanya yang ia dengarkan melalui My Space milik penyanyi bernama asli Cheryline Lim ini.

Dixon kemudian menawarkan materi milik Che’Nelle kepada Virgin Records America, dan ia berhasil mendapatkan kontrak rekaman sebanyak 6 album. Debut album “Things Happen For a Reason” ini dimiliki oleh Capitol Records, dan untuk masalah penjualan serta distribusi diberikan kepada EMI.

Track pertama “I Fell In Love With The DJ” bercerita tentang perasaan cintanya pada seorang DJ. Dengan aransemen groovy ceria dan catchy membuat lagu ini asyik banget buat nemenin kamu goyang.

Lagu “Teach Me How to Dance” keren banget dan lagu ini juga dijadikan salah satu lagu soundtrack film “Take The Lead” lho.

“Hurry Up” merupakan lagu peleburan semua komponen yang pernah dihadirkan para pendahulu Che’Nelle seperti Gwen Stefani, Beyonce dan Aaliyah.

Dalam “Right Back” dia mulai bermain di wilayah down beat. Demikian juga di lagu “When We Will Meet Again”.

Di tack “Summer Jam” Che’Nelle bermain lebih lepas, dan membuat lagu ini terasa begitu megah dibanding dengan lagu-lagunya yang lain.
