Korbannya ribuan warga sipil, khususnya anak-anak serta merta jadi yatim-piatu. Kelaparan dan kekurangan gizi serta terhentinya proses pendidikan anak-anak menimbulkan kekhawatiran, bahwa suatu saat dunia akan memiliki lost generation.
